Janeycakes says.... Your pram hood and apron were definitely not Army Surplus!! The fabric was called "Marimo" and is not available nowadays, we use something which is similar to canvas but is waterproof and comes in several colours. If you wish to have the hood and apron recovered/renewed then there is absolutely no reason why not. If the pram is in good condition it may be a shame to change things as it will take away some of its value..
I have been given a Silver Cross dolls pram. The body is pale green and the hood and apron are dark green. I was told that the hood and apron are made from army surplus material. Is this true? Is it original or has it been recovered? Would it be a crime to make a new hood and apron or is this a significant 'historical' thing? Are there many or them around? I know nothing about this pram.
